Jim loves to create art that
evokes a deeply personal response--from
poetic treatments of Venice, where he
studied in 2003, to romantic landscapes
of Ireland and Spain, where he traveled
in 2004. Whether painting portraits,
flowers, animals or his acclaimed fish, he
strives to convey something transcendent
about the subject. His surrealistic water
media collages and abstract paintings further
push the envelope of both
technique and message.

the Hampton Roads area, and in 2006 he
was honored with a one-man show at The Charles
H. Taylor Arts Center in Hampton. He
is an owner of Blue Skies Gallery, 2007 president
of the Virginia Watercolor Society, and
an art instructor at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center.
